23.12.2009 / slow-transformation strategy.

 

In the past two quarters Arcadis and HUB have been working on a transformation strategy in order to turn an existing – and almost completely occupied - industrial site into an ecologically sustainable area, focused on the development of cleantech activities. We came up with a step-by-step approach whereby – as the present companies evolve around eco-effective processes - the present sprawl slowly regroups into a system of large and densified clusters. This will ultimately result into a park-like setting with an optimization of ground-use and functional flows, a higher level of spatial quality, and an enforcement of open landscape and ecological migration zones. In the forthcoming months we will define an operational plan which will set out a possible route for years to come.
