First prize!
We are happy to announce that HUB – together with Van Roey Projects, Bureau Bouwtechniek, Forté and Technum – has won the competition for the design of a new and low-energy office building for IOK. The freestanding building, which basically consists of very neutral and effective floor plans encircling a central core, carefully balances very strict and ‘businesswise’ references with an almost rural choice of materials and detailing. Hence it firmly positions itself at the ring road of Geel, and at the starting point of a to-be-developed research park, while keeping its relation to the surrounding countryside intact. In the forthcoming months, we will develop the definitive design.
