(12-07-2013) FIRST PRIZE - Social Housing Peterbospark Anderlecht, Brussels (B)

We Win Tender.

We are happy to announce that a consortium – consisting of HUB, RADAR, WEST 8, Bureau Bouwtechniek, ABT, CES, DAIDALOS PEUTZ, TOPOS and LYDIAN – has won the tender procedure for the reconversion of social housing quarter Peterbospark in Anderlecht, Brussels.

Peterbospark – which currently houses 1.600 families - is planned along modernistic guidelines and was realized in the sixties and seventies of the 20th century. Its public green space is ill defined: it establishes no relationship with the interior of the apartment slabs, neither with the surrounding residential quarters. Next to this, the housing quality of the apartment slabs no longer meets present standards. The Anderlechtse Haard wishes to re-structure the site, and re-qualify all existing buildings into a sustainable whole. The assignment consists of 4 lots: the making of a masterplan, the design of all surrounding public space, the design for the refurbishment of all existing housing slabs, and the design for new residential buildings.
