(04-01-2016) Courthouse, Antwerp (B) - PROJECT UPDATE

Commissioned for Architectural Design.

In 2013 a consortium – consisting of HUB, ORIGIN, Bureau Bouwtechniek, RCR, DAIDALOS PEUTZ, FPC and OPTIMIT – won the tender procedure for the restoration and refurbishment of the historical Courthouse of Antwerp. The aim of the project is to re-establish the use as a courthouse and to bring it up to par with 21st century regulations and comfort requirements, thereby enhancing its relation to public city life. During 2 years we worked on a masterplan, resulting in a clear programmatical layout, and in a set of key design proposals for the future transition of the building. Today, we are happy to announce that the Federal Government has decided to proceed with the project and has given our team the green light for the Architectural and Technical Design stage.
