We Win!

 

Last year we made a team with VAN ROEY, AG REAL ESTATE, TRACTEBEL and BUREAU BOUWTECHNIEK for a Design & Build procedure regarding the realisation of a firehouse, workshops and warehouses for the city of Mechelen. We are happy to announce that our team has won the competition and will take up further design stages come fall 2016.

 

Our proposal consists of a large-scale singular building that is a hybrid of infrastructure and sculpture. All programmatic entities and functional flows are organized around a collective courtyard that serves as a protected training ground. Each entity has its own character while clearly being part of a whole.
