(10-10-2017) Urban Plan Molleveld, Rumst (B)

We Make It To Final Round.

Earlier this year we teamed up with D+A and PDG for the competition Molleveld, Rumst. The assignment entails the urban planning of a new residential area bordering the river Rupel. The site to be developed is a brownfield of the former brick industry and is directly linked to the village centre.

Our proposal consisted of a pattern of clustered building plots – reminiscent of the historical industrial morphology – structuring open landscape areas that make room for nature and possible inundation.

Unluckily, we did not win the final round but we are nevertheless happy to have participated in the urgent debate about the possible coexistence of nature development with the further densification of village centres.
