(12-06-2023) COURT OF JUSTICE ANTWERP OFFICIALLY OPENED

Today, the Antwerp Court of Justice was officially opened.

The project took 5 years to design and 3 years to build, and was conducted by a team consisting of HUB, Origin, Bureau Bouwtechniek, Ney & Partners, RCR, Daidalos Peutz, Optimit, FPC and Marge Architecten. The construction works were conducted by Artes Group.

The project reconciles the historical architectural qualities of the (heritage protected) building with the present and future demands of a modern practice of law and its relation to society. It does so, mainly, by reinstating the original, late 19th century design by arch. Lode Baeckelmans. An original design that was innovative at the time, that performed really well, but that was gradually blurred over the years.

We are extremely proud of this large, complex and ambitious project, and would like to thank the Regie der Gebouwen for their commitment over the years and for their thrust in assigning us. We will provide more information on the project in the forthcoming weeks.
